The Commercial Manager is in charge of establishing a commercial strategy reaching all segments and channels to ensure maximum market penetration and the best profit performance. This role is key to seize new opportunities through strong customer relations and works as an Ambassador for the hotel with key stakeholders. It ensures that strategies are set for all revenue streams and that all systems are used to their full potential to yield the highest possible amount of revenue from all available space, whether in rooms, events spaces, F&B or other revenue departments. Additionally work with individual hotel teams to identify skill development areas and properly deploy sales and marketing resources.

Qualifications:

  1. Professional fluency in local language (Spanish) and fluent in English
  2. 3+ years of experience in leadership roles in the hospitality industry
  3. Great team player and simultaneously an innate ability to lead
  4. Outgoing and persuasive personality with exceptional customer relations
  5. 2+ years of experience in commercial/ sales roles
  6. Experience interpreting financial data to make strategic/tactical decisions
  7. High integrity and strong sense of ownership
  8. Bachelor’s degree
  9. Knowledgeable of local political, economic and social issues, and market trends
  10. Strong communication, organizational and presentation skills
  11. Results-driven and strong determination

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop overall  revenue and marketing strategy of the hotel
  2. Lead teams in charge of sales, events, Reservations, Front Desk, Service and Marketing Communications.
  3. Participate in developing and implementing hotel and departmental policies and regulations.
  4. Keep in touch with market trends and review/amend strategies accordingly in line with the evolving market conditions.
  5. Implement personal skill development, performance review trainings and other trainings to ensure the best service quality in all teams.
  6. Conduct regular market research and obtain information about competitors.
  7. Manage customer relations and services, including customer needs, product and service knowledge, sales effectiveness, communication skills and customer feedback.
  8. Maintain communication with all operating departments within the group to maximize sales opportunities.
  9. Maintain good relationships and communication with target markets at home and abroad.
  10. Create and adhere to hotel safety policies, emergency rules and procedures.
  11. Work collaboratively with off-property sales channels to ensure sale efforts are coordinated, complementary and not duplicative.
  12. Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings.
  13. Develop relationships within the community to strengthen and expand customer base for sales opportunities.
  14. Provide Event Management with accurate, complete and effective turnover.
  15. Represent the hotel in relevant events and media opportunities.
  16. Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times to promote customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.
  17. Execute and support the operational aspects of booked business (ex. generating proposals, Corporate Rates, contract creation, customer correspondence).
